The History of Keeney Estates
The Keeney Estates acreage was homesteaded by the Keeney family and patent
deed was recorded in 1889 signed by President Benjamin Harrison.
The
property was purchased by Herbert and Nelda Martin in 1943 and became part
of a commercial cattle
ranch
through present. The Keeney Estates area was referred to as Faye’s
Homestead, after the daughter of Tom Keeney. Majestic rim rock overlooks the
northern
boundary and Keeney Point, the most eastern portion of rim rock, and lush green
meadow and stream known as Long
Creek are nestled at the base of the property.
